Zoey's first Tattoo

I'm suprised this hasn't already happened... but she was just laying there, and matt had a marker in his hand... how could it not happen.

I think it looks good on her... having her parent's initials on her hip.

Poor Zoey.

The Wright kind of Christmas

This year we spent Thanksgiving with the Boyd family, so we spent Christmas with the Wrights.

We started it out with the big family party at Matt's Grandparent's house. Good food, yummy cheese cake, and each family did their own skit. The kids did a little song then our family sang "Santa's coming back" (yeh!) our Christmas version of JT's I'm Bringing Sexy Back, by Britni :)

A week before Christmas we went to Jerome for the day. It was so much fun, I love going through all the little shops and museums. We even got to watch a glass blowing demonstration which was crazy! I cant wait to go back, its the perfect day trip.
Christmas eve we went to our favorite restaraunt, Carlos O'Briens (Best fundido ever) then got our hot chocolate and went to the temple to look at lights and listen to the program. Matty knew I was getting a little homesick, it was my first Christmas without my family so he did everything he could to make me feel at home :) We decided to watch A Christmas Story, so he had me pop the popcorn and he turned on Little Women, which is what me and my sisters always watch around Christmas. Poor guy watched the whole thing. He's perfect. I cried.

Christmas morning the dogs laid on their rug and worked on their huge, MESSY bone while we opened presents together. Then we went to his parents house for dinner that afternoon. Britni made an awesome dessert but I forgot what its called, i'll have to ask her again because I want to tell everyone about it...

We ended the night with a game of Monopoly, somehow dad ended up with about 15 extra $500 bills... he was smart sitting next to the banker... who wasn't paying attention... me.
But Matt and I still won. But i'm not gonna lie... we shouldn't have ;)
Good times :) We had a blast. It was an awesome 1st Christmas. I love spending time with Matt's family, seeing the different things they do during the Holidays. Its fun coming up with new traditions that Matt and I can start, and carry on from our families.
I hope you all had a great, safe Christmas. And have a Happy New Year! We love you all!

Benjamin Button and Booster Seats

Last night we went to see The Curious Case of Benjamin Button with another couple. It was the most interesting night at the movie theater that i've ever had... I have to blog about it.
1st of all, I have to tell you that we decided to go to the Chandler Theater because even though the AZ Mills Mall is way closer... its always full of rude little teenage thugs that ruin the movie..
When we got into the theater and the 4 front rows filled up with abnoxious teenagers, we knew it was going to be a LONG night... not to mention its already a 3 hour movie.
Not even an hour into the movie I see something falling on the right side of the screen and I hear people around us saying "Is the ceiling falling? What was that?" And down in front there was some commotion and people left. And a couple seconds later, in the row in front of us we hear "she's bleeding!" and a couple left...
No one was even paying attentiont to the movie anymore, we were all just wondering what the heck was going on... And who was interrupting my Brad Pitt movie...
Soon enough, just like I thought would happen, the movie stopped, lights came on and 2 managers were standing in the front. And one told us,
"Listen, 2 people are injured and the paramedics have to be called be someone threw BOOSTER SEATS at them and they were hit in the head. If anyone saw who it was, or if it was you, you need to let us know now, this is serious"
BOOSTER SEATS. Someone from the top of the theater threw one all the way down to the front and then another one right by us... It was the first time I didn't feel safe at the movies. People started freaking out and leaving, then other people started freaking out at the managers saying "Why are you letting people go! It could have been them!" But it was pretty clear that whoever did it had already left because the seats where everyone said they came from were empty.
Anyways, they said we could leave and get a refund, or stay for the rest of the movie and get a free pass afterward. So we stayed.
And the movie turned out to be really really good... but really long. Definately worth seeing. Brad Pitt is beautiful, and it was a good story. I just sat a little lower in my seat so my head was covered...

Jodi

My sister Shauna and I went to a Jodi Picoult book signing a couple nights ago. I've never really had the desire to go to one... but it was pretty cool! She she talked about her books and research and told sories for about an hour then signed :) She's awesome. Go get her books. You'll love them.

My Sister's Keeper

My sister Shauna has been telling me that I HAVE to read this book, My Sister's Keeper. I'm actually suprised she hasn't blogged about it yet. She's obsessed with this author now, Jodi Picoult. So I rushed through The DaVinci Code which I was already reading so that I could read it. I'm not finished with it yet, but its one of the best books i've EVER read. But I promise you wont survive it without a box of kleenex.

I highly recommend it though... Go get it :)

Or the movie is coming out sometime in the near future for all of you that would rather just watch the movie. Either way

"I Yam what I yam..."

I love love love Thanksgiving. This year we did Thanksgiving with the Boyds and we're doing Christmas with the Wrights... We figured splitting it up that way and switching every year would be the easiest way since our families aren't both here in the valley.
We went to St. George where my grandparents live. Its beautiful there, but a lot smaller than I remember. Theres no way we were going to ask someone to watch the dogs for us on Thanksgiving weekend, so we did what we had to do... took them :) I know, we've already heard the comments like "thats what kennels are for" and "Board them..." But i've heard too many stories about dogs getting sick and its pretty expensive. So we had a full ride. Zoey and Blue took turns sitting between me and Shauna and sittin on my feet... we were so cramped. But we survived. And JD was thrilled about having 2 dogs in his truck that he loves so much. ( seriously Jd, let us know if we need to come by with a lint roller...)

Grandma Patsy made yams that we're still talking about days later... THEY WERE AWESOME. We're huge candied yams fans, its my favorite part of the meal. And dinner wouldn't be complete without my dad proclaiming "I yam what I yam..." He thinks he's so funny :)Its always fun to get the whole family together. Telling stories, playing games, watching movies, eating. Good times :)On Friday we went to the Mountain Meadow Massacre site which was pretty cool. Look up the story, its pretty interesting. Then the girls watched Twilight :) It was my 2nd time, and i loved it even more.

Halloween fun with the Fam

I know my blogs have been a little mixed up... but i'm going back to Halloween :)
We spent it at Matt's parent's house handin out candy and trick or treating with the nieces and nephews. Their costumes... were awesome. Made me wish i was young enough to go door to door again...
Zach-Shadow Ninja, sounds dangerous huh
Ally-Sleeping Beauty/Unicorn which was the sweetest costume ever
Kolby-Na na na na BATMAN
Lexie-The cutest spider i've ever seen
Mom made us all some bomb chili and we hung out in the driveway checkin out the neighborhood costumes... good times :D

London Bridges here we come

Our lease on our apartment is up in March so of course we've been talking about what the heck we're going to do... *sigh* One day we want to stay here, the next we want to move across town, the next we want to move out of state. So I saw this quiz on Brittney's blog... I figured I would just let it decide FOR us!!!

You Belong in London

A little old fashioned, and a little modern.

A little traditional, and a little bit punk rock.

A unique soul like you needs a city that offers everything.

No wonder you and London will get along so well.

So come visit if you get a chance!
I better go tell Matty ;)

A couple of weeks ago we hung out with Ben and Sarah. And somehow they were talked into eating Korean food with us. We had a blast, our waitress Mickie (i think) was so funny. She kept flirting with the boys and laughed at everything they had to say. They had a good time with it, they made her belive Matt and I were bro and sis and same for Ben and Sarah. And i think she had a little crush on Matt. She practically melted when he started speaking Korean.
Anyways, dinner was great, and Ben and Sarah are awesome. I'm so glad Matty has such a fun family :)

Halloween!

We had our Halloween party last night and it was such a blast!
Kristin is an amazing cook and we all got to enjoy her soup out of a pumpkin, cheese fondu, tamales... and so much more. She's quite the little party planner. All I can really take credit for is the scarecrow cookies that were "too cute to eat" ( I get it guys...i wont bake anymore), and the eyeball deviled eggs that apparently still had shell peices on every one. Thank you Matt for taking the blame for it last night. I'm glad nobody was hurt. I was peeling in a hurry... wont happen again.

Everyone's costumes were awesome. We had everyone from Johnny and June to UFC fighters to just plain freaky lookin guys...we think it was Daniel T... :S Matt was Ricky Bobby from Taladega Nights and I was his wife Carly. Although some of the night Matty looked more like Joe Dirt... he liked the wig.

We played a little game of Mofia, which got a little outta hand. We thought Tinkerbell was gonna kick a UFC fighter's booty and we should have known with the Stevenson brothers and Matt in the same room things were gonna get a little out of hand...

My sister Ali (Tinkerbell) dominated the boys in apple bobbing, i'm so proud.
And yes of course we dressed up the dogs... Blue was a pimp, Zoey was a princess and My sister's English Bulldog was a cow. I'm sure they had a blast too :)

TAG! YOUR IT!!!!

I Got Tagged! Geeze took long enough :) jk. I was tagged by Corie Green;
If you get tagged,Link the person who tagged you. Mention the rules on your blog. Tell 6 unspectacular quirky things about you or your family. Tag 6 fellow bloggers by linking them.

1. We are a popcorn family. And when i say 'we'... I mostly mean me. Everytime we watch a movie (or House Marathons) we have to pop the corn before we push PLAY. And according to me, no bowl of popcorn is complete without either m&m's or chocolate chips melting in it.

2. Speaking of House... WE LOVE THAT SHOW. House and The Office are our 'must see shows' every week. And lucky for us, every sunday theres a marathon of House on. He is soo funny. And if you've ever seen it, you know what i mean. He's such a jerk but it cracks me up. And the crazy thing is... in real life he has this sissy voice and an english accent! You'd never know it! Seriously... If i find the interview we saw him on i'll post it. Its weird. And The Office... well if you've seen the show i dont need to explain anything. Its usually the funniest half hour of the week. And I'm pretty sure matt has a crush on Pam

3. Matt IS the Dog Whisperer. Maybe its because he read 3 books on dog training/psychology before he even got Blue, or maybe its because him and blue have an unusually close relationship ( I know they're in each other's heads)... but He's the best dog trainer/owner ever. And Sometimes I wonder if he would choose them over me if he had to choose. The other night i was cracking up, Matt was of course, wrestling with Blue, and he said to me, "What if Blue is actually a person inside of a dog's body. Sometimes i really think he is... he's so... human-like. Seriously Heather, think about it". So i thought about. For 2 seconds. And now i'm thinking my husband is a little crazy :)

4. We have been extremely lucky our first year of marriage. Its been an AWESOME 7 months. March-Honeymoon (Mexican Rivera Cruise).... May-Costa Rica!!!.... September-Hawaii!!!!
But believe me.... we're probably not doing anything for the next 5 years. And i'm ok with that... We always enjoy a nice weekend at home :)

5. Because Matt went on his mission to Korea, we have korea in our office, our bookshelves, our livingroom, our restaurant choices, our kitchen cupboards, And i'm not complaining. I really enjoy it! Korean food is probably one of my fav foods now! Its awesome and everyone should try it at least once. But theres is no way you'd ever get me to sleep in our office for a night. He has freaky korean masks hanging up in there... and little statues. But i think its cool learning about a different culture. And i like hearing Matt speak it every once in a while.

6. We have the greatest family ever. We're so blessed. Matts family and my family are so different from each other, but both unblelievably awesome. After getting married, I gained 2 more sisters and 3 more brothers :) And Matty gained 4 sisters and 4 bros. And we both got lucky with parents-in-law. I've heard horror stories before from friends and family about the dreaded in-laws, and I consider myself extremely lucky.

So... I tag Jessica, Shauna, Brit, Becky, Kristin, Andrea and.... Whoever else hasn't updated their blog in a while :) Enjoy!

Blue and Lydie

Matty found this video of our neice Lydia playin with Blue and wanted me to post it.
Its pretty cute if I do say so myself :)

BATHROOM BLOG

The other day we took a trip to the greatest place on earth besides Disneyland...
While Matt's brother Justin signed the kids into the 'Smaland Playland', I took a trip to the bathroom. And it was the coolest bathroom ever. So cool... that I was excited to get home to blog about a bathroom.

Cool thing #1-Toilet Handles

Yeah... Pull up if you went #1 and push down if you went #2... I wanted to try up AND down to see what the difference was but i figured that would defeat the purpose of the water-saving handle.

Cool Thing #2- Dyson Hand Dryers

I'm already in love with dyson vacuums, but their hand dryer is the sweetest thing ever. My hands were dry in 10 seconds. AMAZING. And I didn't even have to wipe the extra off on my pants because I was too impatient.

*sigh*

Oh and the rest of the store was awesome too :)

Zero Creativity

I love Halloween... But for some reason I spend way too much time thinking about what we are going to be... Heck, we dont even have any plans for Halloween but i'm going crazy not being able to think of any ideas. All of matt's ideas consist of him being something big and scary and me being bloody and usually dead...

Last year we were Jack and Sally from Nightmare before Christmas. They were actually pretty sweet costumes.

Any ideas?

Camping and Twilight

Well I wanted to post this a month ago when it happened, but i've been waiting for my sister to send me the pictures.... For Labor Day we went camping up around Show Low. My sister Jessica and her family and in-laws were camping so we set up kinda in the same area. And Todd and Kristin joined us for a couple days. The dogs had a blast, Jessica and Troy have Zoey's sister Tayah so it was kinda fun seeing them play together, and Blue loves being able to run around all day.And the boys got to feel like men chopping wood and building HUGE fires. And Todd let us shoot his gun. It was sweet.

So to explain the pictures below... I'm a Twilight freak. I was immediately obsessed with those books. Matt even started reading it with me ( and enjoyed it) until Todd informed him that it was written mostly for teenage girls. I still tell him that if he wants to read them I promise I wont tell anyone... My sisters all ordered these shirts that say "team Edward" or "team Jacob" depending on which character you liked more. So i had to get one... and I couldn't get me one without getting Kristin one. We had to be dramatic about it because we didn't tell our husbands about them before this trip... and when we took our sweaters off revealing the shirts we got the reaction we pretty much expected; eye rolling and "Are you kidding me"'s.

We're not ashamed

Anyways, Jess thanks for finally letting me have the pics and Matt, thanks for putting up with me and my obsessions.

OCTOBER FUN!!!

So for our little FHE tonight we decided to get ready for Halloween!!! We went to the Dollar Tree, where everything is literally $1. Its the sweetest place ever when it comes to stuff like this. I mean, you can definately tell we're poor newlyweds just doin our best to decorate for the holidays, but it was fun!

Now, if our apartment burns down, anyone cool with lettin us stay with you for a while?!?
