MJP and The Wrights

My friend Monica Johnson is an awesome photographer, and was kind enough to take our pics this year. Some people *cough*Todd Erb*cough* think you shouldn't take pictures until you have kids... But I say why not? They are 'Family Pictures' and this is our little family for right now. So make fun of us... or dont. But I wanna get Monica's name out there too :) Her website is on my blog list

Thanks Monica.
Thanks Derek (her husband) for helping control our dogs, they can be poopheads. And they were.

You Complete Me

The other day...
Matt- "Our dogs complete me"
Heather- "Oh yeah? the DOGS complete you? Sooooo I'm just..."
Matt- "Well the dogs complete me, but YOU make me whole"
Heather- "Completing is better than making whole. Complete is finishing something, you dont need anything else. Making whole is just... not as good"
Matt-"....Ok your the egg in my cake and they are the sprinkles on top"
Heather-"Thats better"
And just for the record....
com⋅plete [kuhm-pleet]
verb (used with object)
11. to make whole or entire: I need three more words to complete the puzzle.
12. to make perfect: His parting look of impotent rage completed my revenge.
13. to bring to an end; finish: Has he completed his new novel yet?
14. to consummate.

whole  [hohl]
–adjective 1. comprising the full quantity, amount, extent, number, etc., without diminution or exception; entire, full, or total: He ate the whole pie. They ran the whole distance.
2. containing all the elements properly belonging; complete: We have a whole set of antique china.
3. undivided; in one piece: to swallow a thing whole.
–noun
4. the whole assemblage of parts or elements belonging to a thing; the entire quantity, account, extent, or number: He accepted some of the parts but rejected the whole.
5. a thing complete in itself, or comprising all its parts or elements.
6. an assemblage of parts associated or viewed together as one thing; a unitary system.

So basically "Making whole" and "Complete" are exactly the same.
I know where I stand... right next to the dogs.
And its ok :)

Do I LOOK like a fire hydrant to you?

I've always had mixed feelings about the dog park. The dogs LOVE to go run around and play with other dogs, BUT someone always picks a fight (whether its another dog or another owner), everyone is dusty or muddy, your clothes get slobbery from at least 15 dogs.... but they love it, and I love them.
But I think after our last visit, I made up my mind. And its going to be really hard to get me back there.
I'm standing there, minding my own business, and my leg gets warm...then wet....
I swear it took my mind 5 seconds to process what was going on before I even looked down to see a huge black dog, with his leg lifted, PEEING ON ME. I kicked it away and looked around to see if its owner was nearby so I could tell Blue to go pee on her.
And this lady goes *giggle*"oh sorry, was my dog trying to pee on you?"*giggle*
Me- "Uh yeah... and he did"
And that was it. She walked away. No "oh i'm sorry! I forgot to teach my dog not to pee on people!" or "I'm so sorry! Here, let me get my dog away from you"... I would cry if my dog pee'd on someone, I would be so embarrassed.
*sigh*
Needless to say, I probably wont be going back soon. Sorry Matt & Blue & Zoey :(

Pumpkin Time!

We had some friends over last night to carve pumpkins. I always forget that it actually takes skill to carve pumpkins. Matt says i'm not allowed to carve next year, But I can scoop out the yucky stuff. I'll take it :)
(I dont know why Matt is so sad about it)

Of course we had to turn it into a competition. But I dont think we ever really decided on a winner. So i'll leave it up to my 2 or 3 blog followers. :)

Meet the Wright Kiddos

Last year, we stepped into the Gene Machine (at Dave & Busters) right after we got married to see what our future children will look like. And then we regretted it.
Heres our little Princess... (for all of you that ask when we're gonna have kids...heres our reason for waiting....)

Well tonight we decided to try it one more time. Maybe our genes got a little cuter, who knows. Heres our little stud, Matt Jr.

Not so bad huh? Sure he looks like he's wearing lip gloss, and I think i'm a mean mom for putting him in that turtleneck ( I hated them when I was a kid). But over all, I think we did ok!

We're still not in any hurry... but we'll be crossing our fingers for a boy, for sure.

And of course we'll love them no matter what they look like :)

Lately...

Just a couple things we consider exciting... Lots of changes but we love where we are right now. Life is good :)
1. I went to my first day of school today!!! After finally figuring out some kind of plan for us I decided to go to school for Diagnostic Medical Sonography at West Coast Ultrasound Institute. I'm really excited about it!!! I did have a hard time leaving my job. I loved it there, and i'll miss them but we both feel good about this decision :) I can't wait to start working again!
2. I feel like this counts... I cut my hair :) I love it, and cant wait to go even shorter next time. Yes, everytime I see beautiful, long hair I get a little tear in my eye, but I'm glad I finally did it, I'll stick with it for a while.
3. For #3 I wish I could say we found another place to live (rent). A place a little bigger, with a backyard for the dogs, a little closer to school and Matt's work... is this too much to ask? Everyone is telling me how its so super duper easy to find great rental houses right now... WELL??? Its frustrating. So for now we'll stay here in our little apartment. Its really not so bad, and I'm ok not packing up and scrubbing walls right now.
4. We booked our next big VaCa!! I'm so excited. We haven't really gone anywhere since Hawaii last Sept ( I know, poor us right?) but i've been craving a big trip. Last week we booked our tickets to ITALY!!! I'm beyond excited. My whole life when someone asked me "Wheres the one place you want to go?" I always answered 'Italy'. I love my wonderful Matty for making it happen so soon! We're going next March during my school break. Cant wait!
5. For the very first time... I WON on Ebay!!! I know that may not be exciting for everyone, but its kind of a big deal to me. Bidding is intense. And I know my dad, the Ebay King will be proud :)

Hiking Havasupai

Last weekend, Matt hiked to Havasupai with some of his buddies. I was going to go with him last year but thats when it flooded like crazy. ( I was secretly relieved. I was halfway dreading the hike) But I felt bad Matt didnt get to go.

Sounds like they had alot of fun. And the pctures are beautiful! After seeing them I cant help but want to go now. Someday I will... Matt promised I can helicopter out. And i'll need a girl buddy to go with me.. any takers?!

My Excuse For Not Blogging

If you watch the show, you know I really dont need to say anything else.
This show is addicting, we love it. We're a little behind, I know everyone else started watching it years ago... we're almost done with season 2 and season 6 starts in January. But with our 3-4 episodes a day i'm pretty sure we can catch up :)
If you dont hear from us for while its because The Office and House start up again soon too... we're gonna be busy. (and we're losers)
Our 2 favorite parts of the show...

Our Little Roommates

They watch tv with us, eat with us, clean with us, play WII with us, shower with us, do make up/hair with us(me), do laundry with us, and probably (I dont really want to know) sleep with us.
No, I'm not talking about Blue and Zoey, even though they fit the description. I'm talking about EARWIGS.
I had never seen one before living in this apartment, they are everywhere!!! Literally. Just stay in one spot for about 5 minutes and I pretty much guarantee you will see one (or 2). By now i'm over the Freaking Out stage. I've just learned to keep kleenex with me when I do my hair and make up and I smoosh them as they come.
I also blame the Earwigs for plumping up this lil' lady

They dogs eat em up like treats! They are our little bug exterminators.
I guess I should be grateful they aren't scorpions or centipedes (although I have found 1 of those). I'm also grateful they aren't this big....

No thank you.

We're Off to See the Wizard!

I can honestly say that I could watch WICKED over and over again. It was AMAZING! Everything, the music, singing, the stage and costumes, the actors, and the story...I loved it all. I found out after that the show we saw was actually all of the understudies...I had no clue! They were awesome! Before we went I didn't know what it was about, all I knew was that it had something to do with The Wizard of Oz. But I loved the story. I really would like to see it again. Even if it came out on DVD or something, I would buy it. So obviously I recommend everyone see it the next time its in town (get tickets early).

Watch out Tiger!

First of all, I have to say that even at 8 oclock at night, its still TOO HOT to be out mini golfing. But it is nice to get out of the house on a friday night instead of our usual renting a Red Box movie and popping popcorn. Team Johnson won by a longshot... and Matt learned to never be on my team ever again. I think I ended up with 170 something points. Sorry Matty, at least we had fun :)

Also, Monica introduced me to the Entertainment Book that night(go to entertainment.com). I'm sure i'm the last one to know about it... But i think its the greatest thing ever. I ordered one right away and I cant wait to start using up the coupons doing fun things that we dont normally think of doing.
