6 weeks!

This was the week that I would have been delivering the babies... that is, if life turned out the way we planned. But it didn't (it never does). And our babies will be 7 weeks old tomorrow. I can't imagine them all still being inside of me seeing how big they are. I catch myself wondering how different it would be for them if I had made it to 35 weeks. Then I have to remind myself that there is really no point focusing on 'what might have been', and instead i'm so grateful for this past 6 weeks with our little ones, and i'm SO grateful they are doing so well.

Our lil' Jones is following in his sister's footsteps and is breathing on his own! One step closer to coming home :) I'm seriously so excited. Now if they could start eating on their own... :) He's such a cute little chunky boy. He has his momma's double chin, and I am so proud.

As if 2 of them breathing on their own wasn't enough excitement for us...
Words cannot describe how this picture makes me feel. I'm crying just thinking about it. Sterling and Cash got to be together for the first time since birth. It was honestly one of the happiest moments of my life. I wish I knew what was going through their heads. "Oh hey! There you are! Isn't Mom AWESOME?!" ;)
They were so dang cute together. Making cute little noises, looking at each other. And they kept doing the same things with their hands. I swear we didn't touch them.
Seeing the two of them together made it so much more real to me. I wish Jones could have joined them, we felt like we were leaving him out. But it was kind of a big deal for her to go to another room. Stuff like that can take a lot out of them. She'll go visit him soon. Now that Jones is breathing on his own he can take trips next door too! (In our NICU all the babies have their own room)

Sterling is doing awesome. Her next goal is to be able to eat on her own. It can be a slow process. Which is fine. We're on her schedule. I adore this little girl so much.

Cash weaned off his CPAP today and is now breathing with 3L of high flow! Its exciting stuff for him. Especially when we think about how far he's come with his breathing problems. He has done so good this week. I'm crossing my fingers that he'll be on room air this week! I love my lil red head.

Seeing side by side babies is too amazing. And hooray for one more tube gone! Go Jones! It's so amazing to read about their progress and watch them grow and change so fast. Also, it's cool to see how even at 2-4 pounds they look like you and Matty. I love their sweet little hands! I miss you 5!
