Sam the Man

Our brother Sammy (Matt's little brother) got his mission call! We are so excited for him. Those of us that could, went to mom & dad's house to be there when he opened it.
I'm not sure who was more anxious/excited, Sam or Mom :)
We all guessed where he was going. Australia, Mexico, Scotland, Provo... and we were all wrong.
PERU!
We are so excited for Sam. And we are so proud of him for making the decision to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He's going to be a great missionary!

Sedona... Check

We've been making lists of all the things we want to do before we leave AZ. (Not like we'll never be back...) Considering we only have about 2 months left, AND its the holidays, I doubt we will accomplish alot...
Sedona was on the list and we went this weekend. I've been there before but this time we really got to just enjoy the scenery and relax. We drove up some trails and had a KFC picnic in the desert. I know some people don't think Arizona is pretty at all, but I really love and appreciate it. Cacti and all. And Sedona is definately one of the most beautiful places in AZ.

Our New Obsession

PRISON BREAK
Why haven't I been watching this show since it first aired? I'm (we're) obsessed with it.
After watching a few episodes I feel like I could pretty much make it in prison. Or I guess, make it OUT of prison?
Then I slowly come back to reality and I know I wouldn't last 2 minutes. (I'm not planning on finding out either way.)
Just like I couldn't make it on a deserted island with smoke monsters (LOST) or keep up with Jack Bauer at CTU (24).
Thank you Net Flix for allowing us to stream this genius show from our Wii.
No waiting a week for the next episode. No commercials. No messing around.
Pathetic, i'll admit it.

"You stay classy, San Diego"

Lately our lives have pretty much consisted of Matt working, my school, and lots of house hunting. But a couple of weeks ago we slipped away for a mini vaca in San Diego. We finally went to Sea World and of course took the dogs to the beach. I hope some lucky family found our $15 frizbee washed up on shore after I took my sweet time taking off my flip flops and dress to swim after it... (although I can't say I really ever planned on catching up to it)
And if your planning on making a trip to SD anytime soon you HAVE to go eat at
Best Food Ever. Seriously.

BYE BYE AZ

In a few months we will be moving from here...
.
To here...
A month ago if you would have told me we would be moving to Utah, I would have said you were definately crazy. But I guess what is really crazy is how fast things can change. Matt is movin' up in his company and that means we are movin' up to Utah. (Salt Lake area)
I'm excited/sad/nervous/anxious/scared... But i'm really proud of Matt :) And I'd go anywhere with him.
It'll be hard leaving family & friends, I've always live so close to everyone. But I know this will be good for us. I already told Matt i'm gonna have to go shopping for some warm clothes :) Especially if we are going to be moving in the middle of winter... But i'm excited about the weather and I got even more excited after we started house shopping (Utah is so pretty).
They are letting Matt work from Phx until i'm finished with my classes in December. And i'll do my externship up in Utah.
So come visit us :)

No Excuses...

I'm just a Bad Blogger...

Have I really not blogged for 4 months?

Our Italy trip in March was AMAZING! I miss it already. There was so much to see and so much Gelato to eat :)

Matt did an awesome job on the pictures, I cant wait to blow some up and put them around the house.

Siena was one of my favorite places...

Pisa

We had to stop on the side of the road for a pic. The scenery was awesome

Volterra sound familiar Twilight Fans?! Thankfully we didn't run into any vampires. But i look white enough to be one...

The Colleseum was awesome at night. (and during the day)

My wonderful travel buddy Kristin :)

The Buried Life

'The Buried Life' is a new show on tv about a group of friends that are on a mission to complete their list of "100 things to do before you die". Not only are they checking off their list, but for every thing they do on their list, they help someone else do something on theirs. While alot of the things on their list aren't exactly things I want to do...It got me thinking about what I DO want to do before I die....
Dont worry, Its only a list of 20 things so far. (in no particular order)
1. Meet Reese Witherspoon
2. Swim with dolphins
3. Go to Italy..........(i'm checkin this off in March... WOO HOO!)
4. Learn to play guitar
5. Be a mom :)
6. Play with monkeys. (I'm trying to decide if being surrounded by them in Costa Rica counts)
7. Grow my hair out again. (I think it may actually take the rest of my life)
8. Adopt a child
9. Attend a talk show taping (Either Regis & Kelly, Ellen, Or The Doctors)
10. Visit Nauvoo
11. Scuba Dive
12. Be on a game show
13. Pet a white tiger
14. Go to London
15. Dedicate a week to just doing geneology (mom, your my hero)
16. Sky dive
17. Read the whole Book of Mormon, front to back, in a reasonable time period. (I know, its sad, I've started it at least 27 times, and jumped around, but I want/need to read it front to back straight through)
18. Design my own house
19. OWN our own house
20. Go to Korea with Matt
You?

Snow Day!

A couple days ago we went up Mt. Lemon with Justin (Matts brother) & Becky & the kids. I'm so glad we got to play in the snow before it was too late! The dogs love it. The kids kept throwing little snowballs at them and the dogs would search (through all the snow) for that one snowball. Snow days wouldn't be as much fun without kids so i'm glad we got to join them :)
And I got to use my new Flip video camera that Matt got me for Christmas. I love it. EXCEPT... I absolutely cannot stand how I sound on videos. Its so embarrassing. If thats how I sound in real life, I apologize. Its annoying.

Breaks over already?!

I've been a Blog Slacker. Even on my 2 weeks off from school I couldn't seem to find a minute between movies and naps to update. So here it goes...
Christmas was in Winslow this year with the Boyds. To put it in a nutshell-games, soda, movies, rockband, Super Mario Wii, shooting guns, dog heaven, family, presents, good times :)
Matt's new hunting knives. In case he winds up on some magic island and has to hunt wild boar for food. Watch out John Locke. P.S Cant wait for season 6! :S
I always love getting new sweat pants. :) Seriously, I do

Trying out Matt's new gun.
I can't believe its already 2010. But i'm happy about it. Its alot more fun to write than 2009 for some reason. Unfortunately I cant seem to find our New Years Party pictures on my computer. And even though Matt has shown me 1000 x's how to get pics from his fancy shmancy camera onto the computer, I cant ever figure it out. And its unfortunate because it was an 80's party and people went all out. Personally, I realized I'd love to crimp my hair everyday and wear big sweatshirts with leggings. The party was fun :) Happy New Year everyone!
Now its back to work for Matt and back to school for Me. Cant wait for our next break.... ITALY!!! I'm counting down the days and I keep meaning to learn Italian...
